24 October 2025
The United Nations (UN) was established on October 24, 1945, in the aftermath of World War II, to foster international peace, security, and cooperation. In 2025, the global community has been celebrating the 80th anniversary of the UN, marking eight decades of collective action to address humanity’s most pressing challenges.
Ethiopia, as one of the founding members of the UN, has maintained a long-standing and active partnership with the organization. Over the decades, Ethiopia has played an important role in promoting peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and beyond.
