The United Nations (UN) was established on October 24, 1945, in the aftermath of World War II, to foster international peace, security, and cooperation. In 2025, the global community will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the UN, marking eight decades of collective action to address humanity’s most pressing challenges.
Ethiopia, as one of the founding members of he UN, has maintained a long-standing and active partnership with the organization. Over the decades, Ethiopia has played an important role in promoting peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and beyond.
