Japanese man, who arrived in Ethiopia from Burkina Faso last week, tests positive, Health Minister says.
The patient is currently in an isolation centre and is in a stable condition, Ethiopia’s Minister of Health Dr. Lia Kebede said in a press statement issued to announce the positive case. Those who have been in contact with the person are being traced and quarantined, the Minister added.
“By confirming the fact that the Ethiopian Government is doing everything to contain the spread of the disease and reduce its impact, we at the Ministry of Health and Ethiopian Public Health Institute urge our people not to panic but stay calm and do everything it can to stop the spread of the disease in our country,” the Minister said.
